The sponsors who made the 2022 Training House/Y Dream Home a reality were celebrated during a Sponsor Thank You event on May 26, hosted by the CHBA Central Interior.
“The Training House project is an initiative that brings together a unique team of players whose purpose is to provide a real experience for the residential construction students at the School of Trades & Technology,” said CHBA CI president Jere Lorenz.
Once the house is in its lock-up stages, generosity from companies start pouring in to finish the house.
Sponsorship ranges from labour, to supplies and installation services.
Once the home is complete, it is handed off to the Kamloops YMCA/YWCA, and it turns into the Y Dream Home—the largest fundraising event for the Kamloops YMCA/YWCA.
Joanne Bonderud, board treasurer and past chair of the Kamloops Y Board was in attendance, as well as TRU Trades and Technology instructor, Bryce Coombs.
Sponsors received framed certificates and plaques in recognition for their dedication and hard work toward the 2022 Training House/Y Dream Home.
